Along with Federal Chancellor Kohl, Foreign Minister Genscher and Governing Mayor Momper, Willy Brandt also takes part in a rally in front of Schöneberg Town Hall late in the afternoon of 10 November 1989. To thousands of Berliners, the SPD honorary chairman comments on the fall of the Wall: “And now we are experiencing, and that is something grand – and I am thankful to the Lord God that I could witness this – we are experiencing the parts of Europe growing together again.”
