Speech to the United Nations Association in New York, 26 October 1978
As chairman of the “Independent Commission for International Development Issues,” which he called into existence in 1977, Willy Brandt calls for fundamental changes in relations between the industrial and developing nations. In his speech to the United Nations Association of America on 26 October 1978, he advocates a new, more just international order. Brandt appeals especially to the USA to better live up to its global responsibility.
